About
Gregory E. Tomczak is an accomplished and highly distinguished litigator, trial attorney, and business lawyer. He has extensive trial experience, serving as lead counsel in many complex jury trials and in countless high-stakes civil and criminal litigations within the state and federal courts of Arizona, New Jersey, New York, and Florida. Greg has served as lead counsel for numerous high-profile clients including some of the highest-ranking government officials in New Jersey and the former General Partner of the New York Yankees.
Over the course of his 21 years of commercial and criminal litigation experience, Greg has been called upon to solve some of the most complex legal issues for his private clients, government officials, and governmental agencies. His reputation for providing fierce and strategic trial advocacy has led other law firms to seek his assistance with either conducting the trial of a case or acting as a litigation/trial consultant. Additionally, over the years, Greg’s novel and creative trial strategies have been published and studied by other members of the legal community. He has helped countless clients through such difficult times with compassion and understanding. He does so by taking the pressure off of his clients, making them feel at ease while he resolves their contested disputes with laser precision. The most satisfying and validating statement Greg consistently hears from his litigation clients is “I could have never gotten through this without you.” This fuels Greg’s relentless pursuit of successful outcomes for each of his clients, regardless of the size or complexity of their legal matters.
Greg’s commercial litigation experience at the state and federal level includes representation of individuals and business organizations in complex commercial litigation involving partnership disputes, contract disputes, business torts, construction disputes, real estate transactions, public contract procurement, accounting liability, securities fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty. His broad range of substantive experience also allows for an integrated approach to the full range of a client's problems because criminal and government enforcement activity rarely appear in isolation; they are often accompanied by parallel civil proceedings.
Greg’s criminal experience includes representation of individuals and business organizations in connection with state and federal investigations, responding to grand jury subpoenas and inquiries from governmental and/or regulatory agencies, administrative enforcement/debarment proceedings, and criminal trials. Greg also has experience conducting corporate internal investigations into suspected wrongdoing and evaluating potential exposure to criminal or civil liability. He has counseled corporations, their boards of directors, and board committees on issues relating to voluntary disclosures to governmental agencies and maximizing the benefits of cooperation with such agencies.
In addition to being a fierce litigator, Greg practices in the areas of business and corporate law. In this role, he negotiates and drafts a wide variety of complex commercial contracts and business formation and governance documents. Greg also serves as outside general counsel to small and midsized business handling all of his clients’ legal matters on an ongoing and as-needed basis. Based upon his vast litigation experience, Greg analyzes business law issues and determines how to best mitigate the risk of a dispute before it arises. He does this by analyzing and anticipating the legal arguments that could be made by each potentially adverse party to a dispute over a commercial agreement and any counterarguments that could be made by the client.
Greg is also a financial professional, licensed as an insurance producer and a Series 65 investment advisor, that is well versed in investment strategies, risk management, asset protection, and deferred sales trusts, enabling him to provide insightful guidance on growing and preserving his clients’ wealth.
